Before/After School Activities

Monday morning: Bricks, Bots, and Beakers with Ms. Holly

Our background in education and a curriculum grounded in early childhood education theory means Bricks Bots Beakers classes for preschoolers get kids truly thinking and problem solving. BRICKS classes are more than just copying a picture of a simple build. Preschoolers brainstorm, create, test, and redesign age appropriate projects. BOTS classes incorporate age appropriate coding. BEAKERS classes take natural scientists (aka preschool children) and introduces them to: science vocabulary, developing hypotheses, making predictions, recording results and drawing conclusions. All of this happens in a curiosity driven, collaborative, small group class setting with experienced teachers who scaffold rich learning experiences.

Tuesday morning: Tumbling with Ms. Colleen

All of the classes are conducted at your child’s daycare either before or after school. The main purpose of the classes are to introduce basic Tumbling skills while developing body strength and flexibility to the younger girls and boys. Performances are available twice a year which this is a great way for the child to learn a routine, develop social and communication skills and help those who tend to be shy. Music is fun for all but can be especially helpful for children with special needs. Classes are held once a week or twice a week for 45 minutes. They begin in September and end in May. Ms. Colleen has been teaching over 40 years, 23 years here in Bulverde.  For more information, call 210-844-5876 or email cvgdancer@yahoo.com

Wednesday morning: Tots of Tomorrow with Ms. Dana

TOT is an extra-curricular physical education program for the preschool child. Our curriculum teaches basketball ball-handling and dribbling skills to fun, age appropriate music.  However, basketball skills are only the tip-of-the-iceberg with TOT! Through TOT students are exposed to fine and gross motor skills activities, preschool academic concepts, higher-order thinking skills, and listening activities.  Self-discipline and high expectations are major part of the TOT program.  TOT students are invited to show off their skills during a high school basketball game and at our end of the year SHINE TIME program! Every week we "have a ball" in TOT!
